Good A/C repair person??? (help)
My a/c seems to be having trouble. Most of the system is only three years old, but some components are older.
Suddenly, it is barely blowing through the vents.
Alright... I can "rough it" in all kinds of ways, but a/c is one of those things that I am ill prepared to live without.
In fact, in the Winter, I often experiment with living w/o heat at all! At times, letting the house get down into the low 40's for days at a time. Cold is ok with me. (see also, "Why did Kelton move from Orlando?")
But a sticky hot house? I need help!
Does anyone have the name and/or number of a person or business that is known to do expert A/C inspection and work?
This is a bad time to ask, because I'll be making phone calls first thing tomorrow.
Thanks for the help!

I can't say enough about Stanley Best Heating and Cooling. Family business and they have a proven track record with us and it wasn't just easy stuff either. They are honest, fair with the price and know their stuff. Nice people too!

I cannot recommend Roger Newman and Company.
Good luck and may you be cooling your heels soon!

I do think they go to Knoxville. Please let me us know if they don't so I won't recommend them to anyone except the Blount County folks.

I talked to 3 different AC companies last summer and my best experience was with Air Masters. They were very honest and did a great job.

I used City Heating and Air to install my new heat pump several years ago. They were excellent and I would recommend them.
When I had the 20-year-old one that it replaced, A-1 Finchum kept it limping along. Always showed up two hours later than expected and always said he didn't know if he could fix it, but he always got it running somehow for a very reasonable cost.

Did you check your filter? Might be clogged.. not enough airflow across the coil. Or, fan motor might be bad..

My fiance is a heating and cooling technician. He says it's most likely your blower motor. (If you're talking about the velocity), but if you're talking temperature, then your condenser outside needs to be charged. Hope this helps! :-)

Living in southwest Florida, when Katrina went by she blew up our AC and my monitor. It was just a thunderstorm, no damage except to us, I guess! And yes, I had the darn monitor plugged into the wall and didn't realize it.
Anyway, we had to sleep out on the patio. Southwest Florida in the middle of the night is brutally hot and humid, especially when the storm of the century is sitting in the middle of the gulf. And we were just far enough away not to get any breeze. And the BUGS! What a night!
I give you this story so you can laugh. At least I hope so!

I ditto on City Heating and Air. They just replaced our unit and did a great job. Nice people to deal with and selected them out of five estimates.
