Yeah, it's scary when they launch themselves into traffic and then slam on the breaks in the turning lane. I don't know whether I should be slamming on my breaks or not.

The other day someone backed out onto Lovell, because they changed their mind about which business they were turning into, so they were perpendicular to traffic blocking both lanes. Amazing!

That is hilarious! I see stuff like that all the time on Kingston. It amazes me every time.

Oh yeah, and people in other parts of the country are superior drivers.

No, the situation I clearly outlined was one in which two slow drivers were driving beside each other, also known as occupying BOTH lanes of traffic at the same time. I would be pretty dumb to not realize I could pass a slow-moving car in the other lane.

Hahahaha I've actually thought about doing that before.

And the whole 45 in parking lots, 45 in the fast lane of a 70 mph interstate thing KILLS ME. That and people that ride RIGHT next to each other and block both lanes and the people that take forever to turn. Honestly, East TN has some of the worst driving I've ever seen. It's not that the drivers are aggressive, they just dont know how to drive. In the Tri-Cities they don't ever even teach you how to parallel park.[/quote]

You can always tell west Knoxville types downtown because it takes them 3 minutes to parallel park. "Parallel parking and I have to walk to get there?! I'll just stay in Turkey Creek".

I'll admit that it can be difficult for me to parallel park. I do best when backing into a space, but traffic is such that if you pass the space up (to be able to back into it) the car behind you is already on your ass again. But in Knoxville it's not difficult to find two spaces empty together usually. That or I'll just take advantage of the free parking garages (I'm usually downtown after 6/7 anyway.)
