The houses that I looked at online were not that great. Maybe there is just not a lot out there right now. If you have better examples I would love to see them.

If she saw what I saw she would refuse to go. I spent the whole day looking so that I would have some examples for her when she got home and so far I have nothing. Did you see the picture on my original post? If there is a street or a specific area in Fountain City that looks like that, please feel free to point me in the right direction. I am very open at this point.

I have no idea on your price range, but off the top of my head Gibbs Dr east of Broadway in FC certainly fits the bill. There may be evil colored folk there, I don't know.

This is just my impression of your post but manicured and maintained??? I suppose Dandelions aren't allowed in your lawn either? Doesn't sound like Knoxville is the place for you. Sorry but we aren't pretentious here or keeping up with the Jone's. Do you understand what "Live and let live means? Think about it and check your pretentious attitude at the state line. The sidewalks near me are as smooth as a babies bottom and horrors I live in the 37917 zip.

I don't live in either zip code but I guarantee you that there are houses in both areas that you cannot afford. And I am quite certain that the people that reside there would not appreciate your description. Rudeness in this town is not tolerated.

Knoxville just may not work out for you.
I was not being rude. I was describing the houses that were listed on the websites that I visited and expressing my disappointment in them probably for the same reasons that you decided not to live there. Didn't you yourself express distaste in the same areas because of the homeless and crime.

I grew up in the ghetto's of Ft. Lauderdale, practically lived with a mexican family on my street and went to a cuban church.....I don't think you can get any more diverse than that. I don't think I said in any of my conversations that I wanted to live in an all white neighborhood. I showed you a picture of where I wanted to live.....don't care who lives there, just want it to be nice.

First of all, I live in Fountain City, just happen to have a different zip code. So yes, you insulted my area.

Here's 37918, FOUNTAIN CITY.

Listing #579658

This house is at the beginning of my street.

Listing #667844

Listing #659384

Listing #664757

Listing #654652

Listing #661773

These are some of many. I've worked my butt off all day for you and now I am tired.

Best of luck to you. If these don't work, I would strongly suggest that you look in West Knoxville in a subdivision. It maybe not be what your daughter wants, but they will be less historical looking, which sometimes comes with bumpy sidewalks. That's something you are both going to have to work on. Good night.

Now this is what I am looking for. The website I spent the entire day on did not have these listed. Not even close. I searched by the two zip codes that I previously stated and got older houses but when I pulled them up on google map and chose to view the neighborhood, everything looked quite different. Like the pictures on the website were painted and pretty but in real life, not so pretty. Hope that explains things a bit.

I found the area that I was looking for. Historic Fourth & Gill, Luttrell Street, Eleanor, Deery, Caswell, Wells, Gratz, etc. Very nice houses, no bumpy sidewalks, roads look like they are well maintained. Why didn't anyone recommend this before?

BTW.....I do have Dandelions in my lawn. I pick them and put them into fruit smoothies. Good liver tonic. Knoxville is perfect for just about everyone, we just need to find the best area or in this case, street, that suits us so thanks for the welcome. I appreciate it.

Remind us what zip code that's in?

There was a total of one house of those provided in the Fourth & Gill neighborhood. Everything else was in the aforementioned "run-down zone."
