Can we talk about termites? (new home, inspection, vs.)

I'm a recent transplant from the midwest, and my husband recently discovered that our lovely new home is being chewed on by termites.

He's done a little research and is learning about the different approaches (Sentricon vs. spraying liquid). I wondered if anyone here has had experiences with either or both, and ESPECIALLY if you can recommend a company to do the work. It seems like you need to find someone who knows what they're doing, whichever type of treatment you get.

Do you know what type of termites they are; drywood and/or subterranian? We have lots of termite problems in FL and we did not think they would be much of one in TN. Good luck.

SMG, do you think the Sentricon is working for you? Are they finding termites in the bait etc.?

Yep, it worked for us. They found the bait and then they haven't returned in several years. (The blocks haven't been chewed on that is.) We had a home inspection not long ago and there was no sign of termites.
