Looks like there's a Food Lion, Food City (your best bet) and a Save-A-Lot in Jeff City.

I live in the Middle of Morristown and work in West Greeneville. It takes me 45-50 mins to get to work. 1hr-1 hr 15 mins to get to Knoxville, (depending on traffic) and 1hr 15mins-1hr 30mins to get to Johnson City.

Coming to town 14th and 15th
Looks like I will be coming in town for a interview with my company on the night of the 14th and staying through the 15th.
I will have an afternoon to check things out and browse around.
I am so excited! Thanks for all of your support folks!
Any recommendations within a decent drive of Morristown to check out? What is it like in the Norris Lake area (well at least the part of it closer to Morristown).
Thanks!
Matt

That's funny. This post is clearly about Morristown, New Jersey, and not Morristown, Tennessee.

Norris Lake is nowhere near Morristown.
Try Cherokee Lake, it's right up 25E and near 11W.
11W (not to be confused with 11E which runs through Morristown) is the fastest way to Knoxville from that area. There's only one stoplight -- in Rutledge -- before you get to Knoxville proper. It takes you right to I-40.
Look around Bean Station, the Lakeshore Drive area (lots and lots of new condos out there right on the lake).
Driving 11E always annoys me. It's a lot of stop and go and congestion and lots of schools and school zones.
I go out that way about once a month to visit friends in Mooresburg. I've tried all the different ways over many years. 11W is by far the best.
Closer to Morristown, try out by the Country Club and North Economy Road (not to be confused with South Economy Road, West Economy Road or East Economy Road). If someone gives you an address, make sure you get the South, West whatever designation. I get lost there a lot.

Overall 11W is an easier route in the entire state. 11E is clogged there, in Greeneville, and bad in Johnson City too.
I was wondering about that other post. Morristown rail link to New York!? Ah, that explains it.

11W is pretty, too. It runs through the kind of countryside people think of when they think of East Tennessee. Old farms, pretty little country churches, cows, horses, mules, mountains and ridges, lots of wildflowers, fields of mustard in the spring. Still some tobacco growing, but not nearly as much as there used to be.
It's a nice drive in any season.
