How busy is..
Martin Mill Pike? Is it a pretty busy road? Like a main thoroughfare? Is it near a prison or something? I'm looking at a house that's being sold that's on that road, and I'd like to get a good idea of the area and, since I'm still in Washington State, I'd like to get all the info I can.

Okay.... there's this property that's on 9 something acres of land... and the house is being offered, with the property, at 95K. Is this something that's normal?

I agree, that's a story. I'll chime in and say that I've never even heard of Martin Mill Pike, so it's not a main road at all.

If it's the one that's showing up on Zillow, it looks like it's pretty well used. Probably a teardown. Ask about water. May not be on sewer/county water. Lot looks pretty hilly. Pretty, though. I wouldn't suggest buying without a close personal inspection. Could be a great deal, could be a disaster.

Yeah, I'm not going to jump in on something like this blindly... I'm not actually IN the Knoxville area yet, I'll be putting my transfer in in the spring of next year (hopefully only one more Eastern Washington winter for me), so it'll really be up to the government to transfer me... but I'm trying to gather all the information I possibly can and, when I see something interesting, I'm trying to find out about it. This gives me an idea of what I could get, what I should look for, etc. KWIM?

It's quite possible those 9 acres are straight up and down. But think about it..... you could get out an iron and iron it flat and wind up with 12- 15 acres ;-). You can PM me too, that's my old stomping grounds and one of my back roads to the mountains.

Arctic,
I will say this isn't the typical standard or availability. 2000 sq ft, with additional mobile home, and 9 acres for under $100,000 is an oddity. Martin Mill Pike is definitely a thoroughfare, i.e. a road used to connect opposite ends of town. Busy? Not too much. Being on 9 acres I'm sure will lessen the impact of traffic as well. As mentioned, every home typically does have a story. The tax history looks randomly odd/short for a 50+ year home. It also appears the cooling is serviced from wall units, has public water, and is on septic. Definitely marketed as an investment property. Are you looking for personal residence? If so, it may take some pretty good elbow grease and dinero to get into shape. It may need a bulldozer, or some good renovating.

I think it is a great location and the 9 acres provides a great buffer.
