Does anyone know? We all know it takes a little bit longer driving in the mtns.......!!! I got a feeling this is smack dab in the middle of the mtns but of course I don't know.

When I lived in rural East Knox County I'd take John Sevier Hwy to get to the airport and Maryville. Most of it is only 2 lanes, parts have a middle turn lane. But it's a nice road with very little traffic and very few curves. I think it has only 2-3 traffic lights. It also goes through some beautiful countryside. You wouldn't even think you're in a county with 400,000 people.
Occasionally during rush hour John Sevier Hwy becomes backed up where it merges with Alcoa Hwy (Hwy 129). Otherwise it's a very pleasant drive.
