Old City Eateries in Knoxville featured in August 2009 Southern Living Magazine
Perusing through my Southern Living Magazine, August 2009 issue, and found a page (TN2) devoted to Knoxville restaurants. The article lists their Top 5 picks for restaurants in the Old City.
They are:
1. Crown and Goose
2. Nama
3. Magpies
4. Old City Java
5. The Bistro
Congrats to these restaurants for being named in the magazine!

Mrs. Mtns, the Bistro on Gay St often flies under the radar in ratings. It is excellent and I highly recommend it. You should also try La Costa if you like interesting and unusual. Wild boar with saffron rice and caramelized onions? mmmmm

I finally got a chance to open mine up! By the way, I've been getting that magazine since the 80s, back when I lived up north!
The reviewer's toddler went to The Crown and Goose. I have been dying to try it. I really miss my fish and chips! Good to know that a child won't be too out of place. I wasn't sure.

Ate there last week, in the beer garden, on one of those unusually cool July nights. It was awesome. Definitely pick the outdoor dining with your little one, and you'll feel at ease.
Also, don't use a pay lot. Crown & Goose has customer parking on the corner lot across the street.
