moving to pigeon forge
my family and i will be movin to pigeon forge in the next 8 months from south florida and was wondering if the job market is really bad? what is the more avail jobs seen around? i know what yall r gonna ask what do u do for a livin well i do anything i was an emt ,restaurant biz for 10 yrs,truck driver,shipping mgr for a reptile company,and ive done almost any kind of construction there is . thanks for any help yall can give.

The job market is WAY down. There are alot of people that come here to work throughout the vacation season from other countries...mostly from Russia. It looks like you are flexible enough and should beable to find something...mostly resturants, construction is down-cabins are selling cheap because no one is renting them like they have in the past 10-15 years. Truck driving may be a possibility...I wish you and your family lots of luck.

Unfortunately, the job market is down in east TN. But you mentioned driving a truck and I have seen ads for truck drivers wanted at places like hot jobs in the Knoxville area. Pigeon Forge is mostly a tourist trap so the jobs that are going to be more common there are going to be restaurant jobs, shop jobs, etc. I don't know about the schools, though. Sorry.

All the ads that I have checked for truck driver were for schools, in the long run. That was a few months ago, though. Things may have changed. |

thanks for all the posts ill keep lookin i was thinkin bout not pf but the wife wants to be there since her job is gonna be in pf.maybe somewhere close to there might work

Try Seymour, too! Right next door, but less traffic.
By the way, I checked last week's paper and there were actual truck driver ads. A good amount, too. I think that is a very good sign.
I have not checked today's paper.
