What's is the main airline flying from Knoxville ?
I've a lot that Southwest has several flights (and cheap) leaving from Nashville, what's the main airline flying from Knoxville ? Is it Delta ? Or perhaps there isn't a main airline and it's just a mix. Any possibilities of Southwest starting to offer flights out of K'ville ?

Delta, Northwest, Continental, United, USAir, and American fly out of Knoxville. Well, it's their feeder airlines; there are very few large jets that fly into Knoxville, it's mainly small, 50-seat regional jets. I don't think there are many prop planes anymore at McGhee Tyson (Knoxville's airport), which is very nice.
I seriously doubt Southwest will ever fly here since low-cost airlines have failed miserably in Knoxville. ValuJet tried and failed. Then AirTran tried and failed. Twice. Then Independence Air tried, and that whole airline went bankrupt. Now it's Allegiant Air which is cut-rate and flies to out-of-the-way airports like Saint Petersburg (not Tampa) and Sanford (not Orlando). I hope Allegiant makes it because at least we have cheap air fares to Florida now, but Allegiant doesn't seem to have the financial base of airlines like Southwest or JetBlue so I'm not going to hold my breath that they'll be around forever.
I end up flying out of Nashville a lot and see a whole lot of East Tennessee license plates in the Nashville airport parking lot.

Fortunately, the Nashville airport is on the east side of Nashville, so from Knoxville it's about 2.5-3 hours, depending on where in Knoxville you're starting from.

I think Allegiant will be okay. They fly from Des Moines to Las Vegas and every flight I've been on was full! I'll miss that if we move to Fairfield Glade. No cheap flights to Vegas. Darn! Guess I'll have to drive to Metropolis...

I take 2-4 trips each summer when school is out of session, and this summer, I'm flying out of the Tri-Cities airport most of the time.
But my trip to Portland, OR (to see #1 son) will be out of Nashville because it's SOOOOOOOo much cheaper (just that one trip, though).
I use expedia for all my reservations and comparisons. It's such a good way to compare.

I'm sure Delta is the main airline...although there are several commuter air lines that service that area.
