Smile Relocation to East Tennessee from Florida

For those considering relocating to the East Tennessee area...

We relocated from Tarpon Springs, Florida to the Tellico Village - East Tennessee area (Loudon, TN) and love it! Its a great change of scenery, people and weather - We actually have 4 moderate seasons here.

The cost of living (taxes and insurance are very low), the people are very friendly here and there are no hurricanes to flee from. Most of the people moving here are from Florida, Michigan and California. Its more relaxing and affordable.

We felt very lucky to live in both Ft. Lauderdale and on the Gulf Coast in Florida... we enjoyed our time there. But East Tennessee offers an exceptional living opportunity and beautiful, natural lifestyle with its lakes, mountains and nature... yet we have all the conviences of modern life close by.

We knew no one when we moved here, but have made very many friends, as well as, have had friends from Florida and Michigan move here.

Its a great place to live, retire or raise your family.

I can't believe what I'm reading here! We're in FLA and looking to move to TN, probably Chattanooga area. Your post is soooo helpful! What is the job market like up there? Thanks.

Hi, yes I sure do AGREE. I've done my share of traveling and I must say that Eastern Tennessee is the greatest. A great standard and quality of life.

Carrie, I'm Carol in PC, FL and we are also planning to move to TN. We don't have land yet, been looking for 2 yr. We're ready to buy but haven't found "it" just yet. We hope to be in east TN but want acreage and much is too costly for us. Good luck in your search!!!

Lightbulb Florida

I am relocating to TN at the end of this month from Florida. I am moving to Cleveland TN. The cost of living in Fl is to much. An average family no longer can survive. The taxes and Insurance are way to high. I think TN is a wonderful state. I can get a home with land and still be able to save money. I see more and more familys leaving FL this year. Nice to see others have the same common sense we do. No need to struggle in the sunshine state, when you can live in another state thats offeres just as much. If not more.

You are NOT kidding...I am in Florida and it's too expensive...I lived in the Eastern Tenessee and the standard of quality and living is unsurpassed.
Within the next few weeks I'm OUT of here not looking back....to Eastern Tennessee where even the air quality is better and one could think....
Take care....
