Default Moving from KY to Knox

We are relocating to the Knox area. We come from a mid size country town in KY. We have no small kids just a college age daughter. Is Knoxville a safe place to live? We are country living type people except for our daughter who loves big cities. We have been looking in NW & W Knox. Are these good areas? Too me if there is a bad area in a city just because you don't live in that general area does not mean it can't come to your area. I worry about gangs and etc. as many do.

Those are great areas! I've been here four years. Haven't seen a gang, yet. I moved here for good schools and a safe place to live for our young daughter. We were previously in swFlorida, which was an absolute nightmare.

We literally fled to Knoxville after much research.

Knoxville is beautiful. Lots and lots of friendly people that are kind, helpful, and fun. Lots of things to do. And the Smokys are just a hop skip and a jump.

You'll probably love the weather, too. You will have a very mild winter if you move here.

I didn't really catch this before. Knoxville will be a fabulous compromise. I am a country girl. Cities are okay to visit but I don't want to live there. However, after being in Knoxville for four years I have found that our "city" really feels like a big town. You will love it!

Now, we are not a "big" city, but I think we have enough of a fun vibe to keep your daughter happy.
