Oh yea, I know what ya mean there ! I can't go to town without runnin in to someone I know and just catchin up on things...
LLuce- I understand where your coming from, I've looked at all the houses and apts. around there (online) so much it just makes me tired and I gotta quit for awhile. I'm just going to rent (not sure on a house or apt. though ) and take my time looking to buy. If you decide on apts., you can go to their review site though and that helps .....some will say like they have bugs or whatever. I think when you go there next week you'll get a better idea too.

LOL....alright, personally I wouldn't worry to much about that but what would you say ? Aw, you never know what kinds of tidbits you might find out. DH visited the area before we bought and found out about the time SWAT had to be called (on a former neighbor that, sadly, had to be committed to an inpatient program), and the Narc that lived in the neighborhood (it was the seller of our home), and all kinds of things. He found out that the neighbors were friendly, would watch out for one another, but respected each other's privacy. So, go ahead and knock. Never know who you may meet.

Loving Seymour
We recently moved from SC to Seymour. We did so much research and looking and we made the right choice. This year has been so wonderful and we were able to get good deals in this are on foreclosures. We had a great connection. I love being 10-20 miles to everything and being rural with the city ammenities so close.

I hope we have that kind of success. I'm still figuring out the researching process. Got any tips? You had a great connections for what...foreclosures? Foreclosures don't pop up on the real estate web pages I look at. How do you find out about those? We'll be checking Maryville and Seymour out this weekend.

The foreclosures are on our public MLS, along with all of the other listings.

Hmmm... I haven't seen too many listed on there as foreclosures that I've noticed. Actually I've seen houses on other realty websites that sometimes doesn't show up at all on there. I use that site and trulia and realtor.com and get different info from all of them. Some have better pics, some have more details, some have like a webcam of the whole street area. Interesting. Just haven't run across a lot of foreclosures for some reason. Maybe I just haven't been looking.

There's this site that I found when I was househunting some years ago.
Foreclosed Homes, Bank REO and Repo Properties :: Abacus
You can sign up for a week's free trial and then pay $9.95 a week after that. You can see the list without signing up. Joining the site gives you more details, photos, etc.
and Realtytrac.com seems to have a lot of foreclosures with photos and such. Or at least bank-owned properties.

How come these sites for foreclosures, you have to pay for? What makes them different than searching on any other realty property that you have to pay?
