Default Fire ants in Maryville?

I just saw a news story about fire ants invading many counties in east Tennessee. Is anyone in Maryville experiencing fire ant problems?

They sure are. It's all over the local news.

I dealt with them for years in Florida and I absolutely hate them. TA hole bunch of them will jump on you and attack. It's horrible. And they REALLY hurt and leave these little pimples that are unbelievably itchy!

I'm wondering since I have 4 dogs, would these fire ants pose a problem to them when they are outside in the yard. My dogs are my family so this is why I'm concerned for them also.

I'm not sure. Great question. I had dogs in Florida but I don't know if they were ever bit. Maybe they are smarter than humans?

I know that for nine years I did not learn. I was constantly getting bit.

Well, I'm glad that you are here!

I just went out on my back deck and saw two HUGE red ants. These are the first I've seen in Tennessee. And they are HUGE.
