Hi Everyone

I wanted to let you know about an event next week where you will have the opportunity to hear the superintendent of Knox County Schools speak. The event is called Brown Bag--Green Book. He and two other folks from the school system's health dept will be leading a discussion about a book called Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv. It should be really interesting and give you an opportunity to get to know the new superintendent.

The book talks about how technology has created a wall between children and the natural world and suggests that this contributes significantly to childhood obesity and attention deficit disorder.

So come if you can. It's on Wed, Nov 18 at 12 noon in the East Tennessee History Center (601 S Gay St) right across the street from the Tennessee Theatre on Gay Street.
