Money can be an evil. I'd rather be in a place where I was happier and enjoying than rich and miserable. There is always a way if you look hard enough. Do what makes you happy!!!!

![]() I suspected the same.....and therefor didn't even bother to response. ![]() Money doesn't buy happiness....trust me, I know. But, now I wish I had some...lol.....but I am broke, and STILL happy and healthy. Yeah, now THAT'S what I'm talking 'bout...lol. ![]() |

Good for you.
I'm relatively happy and healthy, too. Someone that keeps posting that they live in Sarasota in complete bliss but insists on insulting Tennesseans has something else going on that none of us can address. But I don't think they have happiness. |

Hoosier, Do what is best for your family.......I am in a different situation than you because I am not negotiating a job transfer or have a job offer, yet….. I want to move to Knoxville because I am looking for a change and want to form a family. But, it is the job situation that has me worried!! When I was up there, I saw that there are a lot of service jobs available, and it seems that the city is growing at a faster rate. So therefore, the result will be that there will be more job opportunities. I was impressed to see how Downtown Knoxville is growing, there is whole bunch of construction going on.....When that happens, it usually means the city is progressing...I am really hoping to find a job before I move up there, but I had to place the job search on hold because I must sell my home first! I live in Miami, so as you all are aware, the real estate market is not doing very well, so I must dedicate my time figuring how to sell my home, etc. Plus, NO JOB will wait for me that long…you know? I wish you the best of luck Hoosier!!! |

Construction does not always mean job growth, especially if there are retirees buying up the houses. That's what happened in southwest Florida. Lots of housing developments, all low-paying service jobs.

Hoosier,
good luck to you in the future. I can see how the costs associated between Knoxville and Indianapolis would mean that a financially motivated move from there to here would be less of a driving factor. But the good news is that prices are starting to fall, so even if you were to eventually sell at a moderate level, perhaps the wage difference would be enough to allow a better cost of living exchange. Best of luck to you. |

Prices are not falling in East Tennessee.
