Question where to buy furniture?????

I hope that someone that has lived there a little while will know the reputation for the various furniture stores in town. We need to buy just a few things that we do not want to move from florida with us. Does anyone else feel this way. My old sofa and dining table will take up too much room in the moving van and they are starting to show their years anyway. We don't want to spend a lot on "fine" furniture. It just needs to be decent quality for the price.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have yet to find a furniture that is not overpriced. I'm sure it is here. I just haven't found it, yet!

I bought most of my furniture in NC and had it shipped here. One thing I did was to go look around here, find furniture I liked, go to NC or call them and give them model #'s and style #'s and pay a fraction of the price. I have bought a few things at Haverty's on Kingston Pike. Good luck!

Fowler's Furniture was a good store to deal with and not overly expensive. They're on Parkside Dr. in Knoxville over near the Farragut town line.

I got a coffee table and two end tables from Ashley Furniture a few years ago. The price was reasonable and they're very sturdy. An Ashley store opened recently in Turkey Creek.

Default Furniture

The is a store in White Pine where a lot of people come here to buy and from different towns called Ramsey's Furniture with good prices. They also have another store located behind them, not sure but everybody calls it Bargain House Furniture. It's good stuff at decent prices.

Post We're happy with Fowler's

After doing a little research on various furniture stores in the Knoxville area, we went to two: Brown Squirrel and Fowlers. Same basic items were higher at Brown Squirrel, and wasn't real keen on their set-up. We were looking for dining room sets, mattresses and recliner-type chairs. Several folks had bad experiences at the Knoxville wholesale place not far from Fowlers, and only saw good comments re: Fowlers. We were pleased with their service - no pressure, decent information, attentive but not hovering. Also liked the consignment store in Tellico Village: Village Exchange -- great items, fairly reasonable prices -- inventory changes daily, of course. We bought several items there. Hope this helps someone.
