Default Cost of Living in Knoxville, Tennessee

I am trying to learn about how much on the average a family of 2-3 would pay monthly for utilities .. electricity, water, cable, telephone, internet service, and garbage pickup in Knoxville? Thanks for your help with a budget.

Lots and lots of answers to this on other threads.

As I am sure you are aware, utilities are tough to say since so much depends on the house, family, bleah, bleah, bleah.

We have a 1,700 square foot house and are HEAVY users of electric. HEAVY. As in we have lots of stuff going all the time, including computers, tvs and lights, even in the dead of night and that is everyday, not just on occasion. Our electric runs us about $110 a month. That's the average. $70 in spring and fall, $200 in winter, $90 in summer. Water and sewer is about $40. Trash is free because I am in the city. My extra taxes cover it.

Cable, internet and phone for me is HIGH but I have almost everything, including 3 HD-DVRs. High-speed, landline with long distance. Almost all of the movie channels. It is well over $200. Most folks can get a decent but much more modest set-up for about $100.

I guess it will give you some idea, anyway.
