Hello out there! I am in need of a good, honest, reasonably priced auto mechanic. Would appreciate any suggestions you may offer.
Thanks and have a great day!

2 I highly recommend who are independents, rather eccentric, but incredibly good, totally honest, and reasonable: CW Ward and Son on the corner of Solano and Madrid, and Dee's Transmission (Steve owns it and they do all work) in the 300 block of Motel blv, rather near Porter oil, next to what was a Dick's Cafe/Hot rod cafe and a hotel next to it. Lots of junk cars out front but don't let that run you off. I used to leave my 89 T-bird there for a couple of days, tell Steve to go thru the entire car, repair/replace what was needed. Some times he didn't need to do a thing and charged me almost nothing! Other times, of course, there were a few things. Both places have a great business and are usually backed up a few days so call ahead. good luck.

I recommend Baird's 2685 Triviz drive next to Walgreens. I had my brakes done and then I moved out of State the brakes I purchased were not to squeek. I called them up and they told me to take my car to shop to fix the issue and the shop would bill them, I did not pay a cent. They won my vote right there for best auto shop in town.

I had bad experiences with Bairds and Adams (doesn't mean everyone will as evidenced by the good things some have to say). My choice is K&S (across from Tombaugh elem), Robert and Sharon helped me out when I was a poor college student. Many times Robert will put the truck up on the lift, figure out what's wrong and fix it real quick for no charge other than a cold beer or just tell me what to do if it's easy. When they've have to do work it's been on time, without issue and relatively inexpensive every time.

My wife's 66 Beetle goes only to Dave at D & D on Valley. A bit specialized (he is Mr VW), I know, but the guy deserves a mention. I respect and admire quality work at a fair price.

I know a fair number of people who only use Dave for their car. From what I hear, he's especially good if you've got a classic car.

I myself use Al's Garage, located on Montana just west of Solano. It's a good "mom and pop" car shop that has reasonable prices.
