What is the dating scene like in Las Cruces? (Mesilla: school, universities)

One of my best friends is moving to Las Cruces and I will be visiting there next summer and out of sheer curiosity, I was wondering what the dating scene is like for 20-somethings in Las Cruces? Is it pretty much a wasteland when it comes to meeting other single women/single men?

As a matter of fact, what are the women like in Las Cruces? I imagine sorta like "redneck" outdoors types, but I could be wrong

During the university school year it's pretty damn good but they all flee when class is done. That's when Cruces is desolate at least for youngsters. From the university you get all kinds, as you'd imagine, business school to the arts to the ag school. You can certainly find redneck womens but with all the growth in the past 5 years there's plenty of civilized people too. :P

Graham's is the hot setup and I like El Patio in Mesilla on Fridays. Afraid I'm not in your age group anymore but I think it's much better now than when I was.

El Paso is good for single women in their 20's if you don't mind that they've got a number of children.

Yikes! I fear for my friend, because this place doesn't sound like there's very many quality women!

Of course there is quality women around. Two major universities in the area... So single girls without children are abundant. The type of women you go after will determine the type you get.

There's plenty of single women in their 20's around.
