What is Santa Teresa like? (Las Cruces, Rio Rancho: income, home, corporate)

Anyone here live in Santa Teresa? If so pros and cons?

you might get more info about this town if you post in the El Paso forum, its more of their suburb,I think most New Mexicans arnt too familiar with it.

Santa Teresa is a residential "bedroom community" just west of El Paso across the state line. It's a nice quiet development on the edge of the desert, with a golf course and tennis courts. There's a wide range of home prices from reasonable to extravagant, so there's something for almost everyone. The one downside I'd see is that it's a bit of a drive to grocery stores, pharmacies, and the like. There are a couple of high-priced convenince stores nearby, though.

If you consider the small unincorporated towns along the Rio Grande between El Paso and Las Cruces, Santa Teresa has the distinction of having the highest per capital income (by far). Like the poster says, it's definitely more in the El Paso orbit than Las Cruces. It's kind of New Mexico in name only, just like Sunland Park.

Santa Teresa is supposedly the next Rio Rancho . . . just taking quite some time for it to take off.

I've visted Santa Teresa ....it definitely can be considered a suburb of El Paso ....nearby attractions include Sunland Park horse racing track ...also War Eagles Museum ....and Sunland Park Mall (a very nice 1 million square foot enclosed mall)...definitely check out Mt. Cristo Rey for some amazing views ....you can see the Franklin Mts ....UTEP Stadium ...downtown El Paso and part of Juarez ....Santa Teresa has arguably the best weather in NM (especially if you like sun and heat) .... here's a comparison with two other hot places....Las Vegas,NV and Tucson,AZ ....
