Thanks tecpatl. I like your door shots. I shot the same ones when I was in Mesilla! I use primarily old folding cameras that are made between 1930 and 1950. Their quality, if you know how to shoot them, is so much better than digital. Las Cruces is such a neat place. I have hundreds of wonderful photos and we've only been here a year. The secret I think is to find a safe, quiet spot to hang your hat and accept LC for what it is. A pretty friendly New Mexico town w/ a bus system and low housing costs that has it's ups and it's downs. We're very happy to have moved here, especially as not long after we sold our property in Galveston and moved here the Big One hit the Gulf Coast. Our mobile home was just $15,000 for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath in a gated senior park w/ a yard. The cats love it and so do we. For a photographer New Mexico light is as good as it gets.

Rainbows in Las Cruces

So, here goes, hopefully this works: (in the preview, it looks like this worked)

This is a painting (by me) inspired by one of the fiesta days on the plaza at Old Mesilla.

It's acrylic on canvas. 18 X 36 inches.

It was beautiful in Las Cruces today. When the clouds lifted this afternoon, there were the Organ Mountains, covered with fresh snow. Later, we had a gorgeous sunset and moonrise.
