6/3 very very cool pictures. I especially like the one with Sierra Blanca in it.

I'd love to know what it looks like from the hike-able top of the Organs.

Would you mind too awfully much taking a stroll ??? ...

Oh, and while you are at it:

(1) Make sure you get shots of vegetation at that elevation.
(2) Get some near sunset and some near sunrise.

That's all I need.
...................... <smarmy> thanks

Not sure how high up you can hike as i've never pushed it to thw top as Aguirre Springs is around 6,000 ft and the Organ Peaks are around 9,000 ft.

I already plan to get alot of photo's when i relocate down that way in August so give me a tad bit of time and i'll post for you when i get settled in Mortimeister

Here's a cool site about hiking the Organ Trails with photo's and even small natural springs and a waterfall in Filmore canyon. Check it out if you have time.

6/3 I'll wait for it. In the mean time, GREAT link doooode!

It looks to me that the highest you can really hike there without getting into some risky stuff is in the neighborhood of 7,000-7,500 ft.

My assumption is that there are stands of Ponderosa near the tops - especially on the N-NE slopes. There are possibly some Aspens that have taken root up there also. I know there are some in the Ortiz Mountains behind the Sandias (around Madrid).

One of these days, I'll spend a few days there - possibly in the late Autumn (after the Aspens are mostly spent in the Sandias) and just check out some trails. Dripping Spring sounds great.

No aspens but there are Ponderosas. Organ peak is pretty surrounded by them on all sides.

Here's a couple I got similar to harry's but a different time of year.
