Las Cruces real estate agents?
Hi, I am new to this forum, so please be kind to me if this is a topic that's already been posted.
I am going to move to Las Cruces and am going house-hunting in about a month.
I've been watching all the on-line realty notices for a couple of months and have 10-12 properties I want to look at.
I would like to find a real estate agent that pays attention to MY needs and doesn't try to sell me something just because s/he has it listed...or who tries to sell me something out of my price range...or who glosses over the properties. (We all know those types.)
So, does anyone have recommendations? I think I've figured out the major realtors, but now need to decide which agent to deal with.
Appreciate any advice.

Realtor in Las Cruces
I am a Massachusetts resident who will be visiting LC next month. I've been researching realtors for the past year. I started out sending emails to several realties for info. As realtors responded, I stayed in touch with those who where willing to show me around the area knowing full well that I won't make a purchase for a year or two. I have the names of a few realtors who have not done a hard sell and are willing to help me research neighborhoods. I hesitate to make personal recommendations on a public website, however. If you want to send me a private message, I'll let you know my opinions.

Dear MGarcia121:
I just bought a condo in Las Cruces and the agent that assisted me is a very honest professional who used to be a city official, his name is Jim Ericson, telephone: (505) 640-1955. Please tell him that "Tito", the man from Illinois who bought the condo last week, has recommended him.

Would you be willing to share the names of these realtors? We are looking to move to NM, but not likely until summer of 2008. With the kids in school, there isn't much time to check out the area in person until the summer and we're not willing to jump at a decision too quickly. Thanks!

LC Realtor
Having recently completed the purchase of a home in Las Cruces while living at a distance, I'd be happy to share my excellent experiences (as well as 'other' experiences) with anyone who would care to send me a PM.
Overall, it was a very smooth, very easy transaction.
John

Thanks for the replies
I will be in Las Cruces in three weeks and have contacted a realtor that sounds both personable and informative and responsive. I will post a testimonial here if he comes through.
Thanks,
MGarcia121

Please let us know about your experience, I will be back to Las Cruces in six weeks for the closing on my condo. I don't have to be present, but I will use it as an excuse to travel there again. For a few months I'll have two homes, but I didn't want to let the opportunity pass me. I'm sure I could have found some place to live if I had waited until a month before my moving, but it's like when you go to the store on a sale day, if you get there too late, you won't find your size or your favorite color and have to settle for something else. Another way to do it is to rent for a while until you feel comfortable and knowledgeable with the city before looking for your permanent place, but I didn't want to have to move twice, honestly I hate moving.

Well, I just got back from my Las Cruces trip and offerred on a home my first day with the realtor. Offer accepted, home inspection completed within three days.
The realtor I used is Chris Harrison at Exit Realty. His phone numbers are 505-496-0141 and 877-772-4521. His email is: chris@exithorizons.com
There are 600 real estate agents in Las Cruces, alot of choices. I contacted two and stuck with Chris because he said he thought he could find me a home in my price range. I did alot of on-line research before getting there, and had a list of properties to look at, which he appreciated. The house I am buying was on the list I'd made.
His listings are all higher than I can afford, but he understands that his meat and potatoes depend on treating his high-end, middle-end, and low-end (that's me) customers the same. He does NOT push his own listings. Chris has made all the steps in this transaction quite easy, so far. He's kinda high-paced, but I never felt rushed by him.
