If business is stifled in the form of pilferage and employee resignations, resulting in shutdowns, that's what really speaks volumes. When your tax base begins to erode, maybe only then will you see meaningful change.

WOW you people are making me feel real good about living in El Paso now.. we may get paid less per hour here than our counterparts in ALBQ. NM.. but if that is the kinda thing you all have to deal with, I am in a far better location.

Update: nailed again over the weekend. Car broken into and radio stolen.
I almost think I live in Detroit or the South Bronx.

All I can do is file another police report, and submit it to the insurance company. Of course, I can do something about it, in the form of "Paul Kersey" and camp out in front of my car every night. Because the police are not going to do anything above and beyond what they are required to do. And what is required, in this case, is intervention.

I've been robbed a couple of times (not in NM) and the cops didn't do anything about it. Probably not much they can do.
I guess that's what makes it so easy to rob people as nothing is really done about it.

try the garage? motion light? dog? :dunno:
I've had a bag of stuff in the bed of my pickup for about 3 weeks, just sitting there, in all areas of town, wishing someone would take it. So far, no takers.

Our cars get robbed or damaged every June when the thieves can commute to Londonderry from points south. Annoying because the damage is costly to fix. It would be even more costly (to me) if I caught one in the act.
good idea - I'll gift wrap a bad of used cat litter and leave it in an unlocked car this summer.

Only if :
A - they find the body
and
B - they can tie it to you
