I found an apartment - Sierra Verde Apartments on Idaho street near Telshor and the Mall and not too far from an Albertsons supermarket that's on Lorham. Is anybody familiar with that apartment and area? I need to find out if it's in a quick walking distance to the mall and even more importantly to the albertsons supermarket? Since the buses stop running early in Las Cruces walking becomes neccessary. Does anybody know how far of a walk it would be from that apartment to the mall and alberstons supermarket? It's for myself and my mom who is 89 and walks with a walker but is in great shape for her age. She can walk pretty far but she is limited to just how far she can walk. Also if anybody is familiar with that apartment building can you tell me is it is a nice building? It seems nice from the apartment guide book I found it in. Thanks for your time!

From the Sierra Verde Apartments to the far side of Mesilla Valley Mall it is no further than 0.7 miles (one way).

There is an Albertsons past the mall and it would be 0.9 miles (one way)

I am not familiar with the area, I looked it up on Google Maps

It isn't a long walk, but the area is somewhat hilly, so it may not be a comfortable walk for someone with a walker. Given your mother's age, she is eligible for the dial-a-ride service (info below) which might help some, though it does operate during the same hours as the regular buses.
