Default Relocating to LC in two years

I'll be moving to Las Cruces from the Northeast when I retire in two years. After living in Massachusetts for 62 years and visiting many areas in the US, I believe LC has much to offer. The city is easy to navigate for this directionally challenged driver. The development seems to be well thought out and the climate, in my opinion, is nearly perfect. Plus, the residents are friendly. Many years ago I thought Florida would be my retirement destination, not any more. I encourage anyone considering LC to visit the city and see for yourself.

My father, who lives in Las Cruces, told me that the city recently made the list of Top 15 Fastest-Growing Cities in the US.

Las Cruces would be WAY TOO HOT for me.

I would suggest that someone who is considering Las Cruces really likes VERY HOT weather and maybe spends some time there in the summer before reaching their relocation decision.

I'm heading for Northern NM for retirement.

Excellent suggestion. I'd offer the same advice to anyone considering relocating to Massachusetts where I currently reside.

Having lived in and worked in both SF and LC I can tell you with certainty that the difference in temp in the summer is miniscule compared to the difference in winter. Enjoy the snow and the magnificence of NM drivers when encountering it.

I've lived in Phoenix twice and go there regularly, and agree that Las Cruces is moving in that direction. Sprawl, heat, wind and air pollution.. The air pollution here is getting worse, due to dust in the air, pollution from Juarez and car pollution. At this rate it will be as bad as Phx in a couple of years. Check the EPA site for the stats. There's not too much in the "ambiance" dept here, though there there are some nice concerts . This place doesn't compare that well to other places I've lived, after being here a number of years. It gets worse with time. Unless you're into the cowboy and native american scene, there's not much culture here. However, there are a lot of people who have a different opinion . If you liked the southwest generally, you may like it here.
