Drove on this road today to go to the Ruvo center. Wow! What beautiful homes. There is a sign that says something like historical alta. What do they call that area?

Sometimes called the Alta Corridor.

Note that there are lots of neat places tucked away in that area. South of Alta east from Rancho...and even closer to the freeway south of Charleston.

McNeil, Palomino, Rancho Circle, The Scotch 80s are tucked in the area. There are even some rational middle class places...Spnanish Oaks and the tracts on the north side of Sahara.

Schools are troublesome...but Our Lady of Las Vegas covers if you don't mind a parochial school. (Has a Vegas history to...adds a little spice)

it's historical [in a manner of speaking] because it was the area of residence for most of the hotel owners back in "The Day" Owners lived inside the [now gated] Rancho Circle Area. Casino Managers and smaller owners like "Westward HO" lived in the adjacent areas....
HOWEVER it became a "HISTORICAL AREA" when former city councilman Michael McDonald pushed it thru as a means of chocking off the traffic down Alta [it didnt work...NOW the residents can't even get out of the side streets bacause traffic in rush hour backs up fo 3 blocks.]
