Is 89131 zip code a decent area?
I have heard both good and bad things about N Las Vegas on these forums and I'm contemplating moving soon to the 89131 area on Amherst Ranch and I wanted to know any and all info on that particular area. Thanxs in advance

that isn't North Las Vegas, that is Las Vegas...I think that area would be fine, way too far out in my opinion, but they are apparently building a lot of stuff at 215 and Decatur...its North of Lynbrook, which is a really nice neighborhood and its west of Aliante...Again, it is far out, and parts are rural, and parts are suburban...

That area is just fine. There is a new Costco there, with a new super Walmart, lots of shops and restaurants, a Best buy going up, supposed to be a Sunflower market plus banks, and many more things.

89131 is a very good area. I wish there were no homes there though. The area around Floyd Lamb State Park and Gilcrease Orchard should never have been developed. We need to keep some of our open space and we'll be sorry when it's all gone. It is in the NORTHERN part of Las Vegas...not in North Las Vegas which is another city. Any zip starting with 891-- is in Las Vegas or the county. 890-- is North Las Vegas, Henderson, and the Lake Mead area. 8900- is Boulder City.

Mami, even if it would have been upper north las vegas, it's all new up there where i mentioned, so either way it would have been a good bet.
