Spoken like annoyingly skinny person.

I'm a big person, but I still try as hard as I can. I'll never win the Boston marathon, but I was taking the bus and walking in today's 111 degree heat. Could you do the same?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

Weight is the last safe form of discrimination.

With Las Vegas being the 'buffet capital of the world', I'm surprised we're not ranked higher.

Distance makes the heart/stomach fonder?

The tourists who come here from the longer distances traveled, they pig out more when they're here, go home and add to their obesity rates of their states?

When I used to come here from MN that was foremost on my mind: Pig out for 3-4 days on buffets, breakfast-lunch-dinner!

Now that I live here, what happened?

If you guys want to hear something interesting, I am 5'11 and weigh 170 pounds and I eat MORE than Aqualung. It is pretty clear to me now that a lot of obese people have a medical problem causing them to store too much fat.

Not to sound descriminatory LVD. Some do have a medial problem that causes them to be over weight (thyroid problem) others are genetically predisposed to it, while some are just big boned (I knew a cop in Connecticut who was very heavyset but he was in remarkable shape.

There are also quite a few people who dont have a medical or genetic problem that made them fat. Too many trips to 7-11 for snacky cakes, and going back for 3rds 4ths and 5ths made some other people fat

I remember there was a story about a teenager who lived in New York who was morbidly obese, and diabetic, they said he was going to McDonalds 5 TIMES A DAY to get double quarter pounders with cheese Even just ONE of those will make my stomach more than full and leave me feeling queasy for hours

In many cases it may be medial or genetic, other times its just poor choices

Whatever the problem is, its epidemic. Individuals may vary, but the average rate of obesity has skyrocketed across the entire country in just one generation. 20 years ago no state had an obesity rate over 20% (most were well under 15%) - and now, as you can see from that list, only colorado is under 20% and just barely.

Personally, I blame the agrindustrial complex (Tyson Foods, Archer Daniels Midland, etc) - obviously they are producing more than enough food and don't need government subsidies any more.
