Las Vegas weather: 107º ─ humidity 15% (a little higher than usual) ─ heat index 104º ─ dewpoint 50º ─ wind 5 mph.
7-Day Forecast for Latitude 36.24°N and Longitude 115.28°W (Elev. 2414 ft)

Orlando, FL weather: 93º ─ humidity 49% ─ heat index 100º ─ dewpoint 71º ─ wind 17 mph.
7-Day Forecast for Latitude 28.51°N and Longitude 81.38°W (Elev. 98 ft)

In high humidity (and it gets a lot higher than that) the heat index goes up even with the strong breeze. In low humidity it goes down, even with no breeze, though we do have a few rare clouds today.

It's where the rubber meets the road ─ and melts

"Arco on Rancho and Craig as it's 2.74"

The rudest people in Las Vegas, too. I got gas there a couple of times when I was last there...ohmigosh, cars coming from all directions, what a mess.

Best view in Vegas? Try going out Owens as far east as it will go. There's a park out in the NW that has great views too. I think it was on Hualapai but I can't remember offhand.

$2.75 at Costco gas. Of course you have to have the membership card.
I have been seeing some stations around town that have gas for $2.74 for cash, and $2.85 for credit. Ripoff for using your credit card.

Davie, if you like tea, drink iced black tea you make at home. Only 40 milligrams a cup of caffeine versus 115 for coffee, but you still get that caffeine kick. I buy the stronger tetley tea or the PGTips and have that when i really need to wake up and be alert.

For all you splenda drinkers, that isn't such a great choice either. Something to do with chlorine. So just buy some turbinado sugar and use that. It's lightly refined, versus the junk that white sugar is. And tastes better too. Fresh and Easy has the box of 50 packets for 89cents. Good deal.
And if you all need your cola fix, get the one with real sugar at Whole Foods/Sunflower market/Trader Joes/Fresh and Easy. Read the label.
And the best thing to stay hydrated on these hot days is to always have plenty of cold water with you. Go to a sporting goods store, or the sporting goods section inside Kmart, Walmart or Target and buy some insulated bottle holders. Pop it in your freezer when not in use and always remember to take it with you wherever you go.
While you are in the sporting goods section, pick up a personal "mister" or two. Wonderful way to cool off anywhere. Instead of getting desperate and jumping in a fountain or running through someone's sprinklers.

Youins does know that ARCO stands for Atlantic Richfield Company ─ owned by BP ─ doesn't gew? The owner of a bunch of ARCO stations in Cal was caught watering it down. And they either don't take credit cards or they do and charge you more.

Last time I filled up at Arco with my debit card I was charged a 45 cent transaction free. Same thing happened at an Arco station in Tucson on my drive out here

Next observation....new one for today

The self checkouts at Smith's are a pain in the ass I HATE them. I just got home from a very hellish experience with one, and the attendant was very rude with me

Huh, I love the self checkouts at Smiths. You should not even need to bother with the attendants with them.

Seriously, what am I in for? I was under the impression that playing road warrior was our favorite sport...and we pride ourselves on that fact...(sad but true).

I'd much rather interact with a human being than with a computer that constantly says please wait for assistance, when i didn't do anything that requires assistance from those rude attendants
