What the other posters said is correct. You can just drive there yourself... plus you can explore (Within the boundaries). I, myself, have been there twice... I love it. I even want to go again. I think the whole mystique behind the area is cool. When you get there, it's exciting and you can even see some security workers.

I'm sure everyone just goes up to the area where Oberleutnant (Same here)... however, I want to go up to this gate some time.

YEARS ago when the "AF" did the last little land grab around area 51, a group of us were 4 wheeling in a dry wash and "APPROACHING" area 51 [about 10 miles away] we rounded a bend in the wash and found and AF Suburban parked crossways in the wash...4 AF guys with M'16's....they said go back...I said no...we're still on BLM land we can go here....they said "kachink [insert sound of a shell being jacked into the chamber]"

I said "BYE"
They don't play up there.
