Asians always make good pastries.. you have to try the Chinese bakeries in the spring mountain/china town area.

Been to the one in Chinatown Plaza and you are right. I just hope they aren't using lead based cake frosting.

Funny about DD...when I moved to Vegas 15 years ago, they were going out of business. I've been gone for about a year now so I didn't know they were going to give it another go. But if Carvel can do it, DD has a shot. Although I'm a Starbucks lover and think DD's coffee is gross.

I don't know if you've ever tried this place, but if anyone wants to have EXCELLENT cuisine for not-completely-outrageous prices, Mark's on Lake Mead and Tenaya is OUTSTANDING. Their Chicken Sinatra is some of the best food I've tasted in Vegas.

The only bagel place on Buff and 95 I can think of is Einstein Bros. Is that the one you mean?

I'm a Starbucks coffee lover too, and sometimes I think the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is even better. But for a surprisingly good cup of coffee try the Original Pancake House. The food is great too.

Bagel Cafe is on Buffalo between Westcliff and Washington right next to the eastbound off ramp of Summerlin Pkwy. But nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded. Great breakfasts, good deli, too noisy, always a long wait, but worth it.

Need to give all you folks a heads up for a FANTASTIC breakfast place with AWESOME back-home style bagels. Try Weiss Deli on corner of Sunset and Green Valley Pkwy. I'm a transplanted Long Islander and know my bagels!! Can't wait for DD to open up realllll soon now! See you all there :-)

Vegas comedian Mac King's favorites places to eat
My Favorite Things to Eat in Vegas by Mac King - Vegas Pop Blog
//
Let's just start with this: I love Las Vegas. For the past seven years I've been doing my goofy little one-man comedy show at Harrah's on the Strip. Before that I was on the road 220 days a year performing in comedy clubs and for Fortune 500 companies. Without Las Vegas, I'd still be doing that. And while I sometimes miss spending the afternoons sitting in my hotel room in my underwear watching sports and ordering room service, I much prefer seeing my wife and daughter every day.
Also, because I'm not the only person who is acquainted with the charms Vegas has to offer, all of my friends come here, a lot. And when they visit, what we like to do is eat. In fact, the only job I've ever had besides magician was as a chef at a place called 610 Magnolia, which, at the time, was the nicest restaurant in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
If I suddenly lost my right hand and couldn't be a magician any more, I'd go right back to being a chef. Actually, if I lost my hand I reckon I'd have a pretty hard time being a chef as well.
This is all just my way of saying that despite my appearance, I'm not as big a rube as I seem, and when I talk about food, I know at least a little bit of what I'm talking about. In the ten years that I've lived here the options for a fine meal have just exploded. So what follows is a small tour of my favorite places to eat here in Las Vegas.
