I have a well connected friend who works for a local recruiting company and provided me with some information... He told me there has been some recent turnover in the folks who were already hired in marketing, which is why there has been so much "back and forth" in these positions. Not sure if that is correct or not. All I know is I called today and they said I am still in the running so I will go with that

He also took a private tour of the property last week and said it's amazing FYI "It's like a mix of Wynn, Bellagio, Hard Rock and The M Resort."

I don't even have direct PR experience but here is my background... I have a BS in Psychology, 5 1/2 years in sales, 2 years in marketing (database management, email marketing, web site stuff, putting on events etc...which is what I am doing at my current employer), had two businesses, all by the ripe age of 29

My friend, who I referred to earlier, knows people over at the Cosmo and said this position was more of a "glorified" admin which I am more than qualified for (so he thought). Who knows what they are looking for

Also, I have never worked in hospitality. All my experience has been for software companies... minus my personal ventures which were a tanning salon and club.

What are both of your backgrounds in the field?

i'm hoping that I am doing the right thing by transferring.. I'm currently at the M and have been promoted twice and I've only been there since February. However, going to the Cosmo may be a small step down in position BUT the pay is substantially more and I see more potential in the future.
I also don't know what to expect at the M since it has been sold to Penn which the biggest fear would be for them to fire and rehire at a lower wage.
I am also betting that my resume gets a solid up being that the Cosmo is on the Strip where as the M is not.
So in turn, i am nervous AGAIN.

Ps... going into the Cage.

Base on just what you wrote airics, i think you made the right decision. "think positive and you will have positive results" Good luck and congratulations again. Can I ask you a favor for all of us who are trying to apply for the public relations specialist position can you get us an insider scoop about the status if it is still available and what they are looking for in regards to applicant's qualifications. we will appreciate the gesture. thank you so much in advance.

Default Table Games

I applied for a floor position in table games. I still haven't heard anything, anyone else hear about a floor job yet? I know some people who were already hired for the position and I also know of some dealers who are hired as well as some dual rate pits. A lot of people I work with have been calling Cosmo, and they are saying that they are still making their final decisions. They also said that it could be a while.

To the person interested in dealing: You had to apply online as a dealer and go to the first group interview. From there they called you back for a second interview and audition. They are no longer taking applications at this time for dealers. My friend somehow didn't see her email asking her to come back for an audition and when she called a couple weeks ago was told it was too late.
