A friend of mine went down to the employment office to ask in person why he hadn't heard anything. It didn't go well. They looked him up and then told him to be patient and that his application is still in the system. He asked to speak to a hiring manager. Someone came out and told him to please wait like everyone else. In the end he got a rejection email the next day. He thinks going down there and demanding too much messed up his chances. That's just what he thinks. We will never know.

I messed up my chance at Cosmopolitan, I applied online but never checked my email. I got a call from one of their people telling me to take the test because it was sent a few days ago. I knew right then I blew my chance, I still took the test and got a rejection email a couple of days later.

Can you apply for something else? I heard not all of the positions require that assessment test, but I'm not sure if that is true.

Yes I can, I am employed at the moment but always looking for something better. I believe if the job duties include handling cash, they may have to ask the applicant to take the test but anyway my roomate is still waiting for an acceptance/rejection letter, he has taken the test and interview over 2 months ago. He is employed so not really worried about his job situation but to everyone, goodluck and keep checking your e-mail.

Well I applied for a job that didn't require handling money and I had to take the test, so I'm not sure if that is the determining factor, maybe someone else knows. I have a job too but not in the hotel industry, good luck to you and your friend

A lot of factors can determine someone's eligibility but the fact that someone had to call me and tell me to check my e-mail had some bearing on my eligibility for the position. Goodluck to everyone!!

the test is required of all positions... if you fail the test, you will have to wait till it falls out of the system till you can apply again
