Default Future Commercial Building on Southern Highlands Pkwy.

We noticed a sign on Southern Highland Parkway for a new casino. (On the left if coming from St. Rose.) When we were in BOA the manager told us that around the same area or so a new large shopping center (mall?) is going to be built.

Does anyone know if these are things that were in the planning phase at one time but are on hold with the economy being what it is? Or will they move ahead anytime soon?

Thanks!

There are hundreds of projects that are stuck in the planning phase waiting on the economy. I would not be surprised if this casino or mall were in the same boat.

Here is a snap shot of what is going on with the commercial property sector.
As the economy seems to not get any better one of the newest shopping centers Town Square has been filed on by the bank for being in default, and the bank is demanding payment in full.

You may want to read on to learn about other properties that are in default as well as canceled. Such as the Proposed Mall of America that was to be built the land was foreclosed on as well.

Both the Southern Highlands resort and regional mall that were planned by Olympia Group, the developers of southern highlands, are uncertain. I haven't seen a press release out of them since they wrote that the SoHi resort was to open soon. I wish they would state their intentions, but I'm glad they didn't build in this economy.

No go. Which means no new revenue.

Anyone heard anything about a Wet N Wild coming to Vegas?
Is that a new strip club?

Maybe we can set up a Slip n' Slide on all that "green" space when they build that mall.
