There are some really awesome places to buy unique foods in Vegas. Granted we will not like all the food other cultures enjoy. Simply because we were not raised eating those foods.

And herein I think lies the secret, these specialty grocers have say 5 different foods we regularly eat, BUT from these diverse stores they have it Fresher, Bigger, and More Flavorful!

Here is one example; at the 99 Ranch Market in Vegas' "Chinatown" they have fresh, live and huge shrimp, blue crab, and some of the largest live lobsters I have ever seen.

But you see, we eat all three foods, yet would never think to shop there, right!?! Because most people don't know where they are located.

Oh, my gosh and the large variety of Asian pears! Priced less expensive than the typical chain stores.

Ask yourself when is the last time we saw a live lobster tank at Smiths, Vons, Walmart or Kmart?
Hardly ever, if so only seasonal. But now you know where to go and get some of the freshest even live seafood.

This is what I like to call: The Art of Grocery Shopping!

You know Kitchen Witch, I think I need to put up a page on my site that list ALL of the hidden gems of grocery and specialty stores in Las Vegas. So our new and old Las Vegas friends alike would know where to shop for delicious niche foods.

These are grocery stores in Las Vegas and specialty food stores which took me like some 15 years to find here in Las Vegas! (I guess I was busy traveling and visiting casinos and such and hiding out in cool air-conditioned places in our summer months!)

Enjoy,
Bill

Hello Localinsight,
And thank you! Different isn't it!?! It just got tired of not knowing what a good price was on groceries so I compared 800 of them over 18 months to learn what was a good price and what wasn't. Now I know!

Thank you again,
Bill

I spent a couple of days at the Excalibur a few years back. Well more like 25 stop to think about it. Loved the Knights of the Round Table shows they put on. Not to fond of eating in the area with fingers. Guess they made it a real event atmosphere.
