i disagree on the craigslist.. a lot of decent homes there.. if you are careful, you won't get scammed.. if i use a pm company, i have to charge more rent to pay the pm...

I disagree with the above...as you get above $1500 or so you go with a RE Agent. They have access to virtually all the listings in that price range.

Probably 10 to 20 times the listings of any PM and sorted so they can be dealt with unlike Craig's List.

mod cut:

As a general rule you can't rent a property in Las Vegas any more than 6 weeks before you move in. In some cases you won't get more than 30 days. So wait until you are ready to take over the property before you spend a lot of time looking at specifics. If you get a ride out to look at neighborhoods go for it. But don't expect to get a property until close to your move.

that may be true but most landlords will try craigslist before committing to an agent and the mls...

You are certainly more than welcome to move here, but caveat emptor: You must: accept the fact that you will be pelted on a daily basis by rude, undereducated 909'ers, (from California's ever so lovely Inland Empire), accept the fact that 75% of people in this city will have no idea of what you are talking about if you utter a polysyllabic word; accept the fact that it never rains here, and thank God it doesn't, since idiots here drive faster in the rain. Namaste.

The divine in me recognizes the divine in you. I see you live in LV. You clearly speak in polysyllables and communicate very directly. What neighborhood do you live in? I do more than accept the lack of rain; I embrace it.
