Well, you can be thankful that there are three states that don't require proof of citizenship to get licenses. Washington, New Mexico and Utah. The majority of illegal Mexicans are going there even if the thought of illegal Mexicans living next door to Mormons is ridiculous. There are quite a few illegals in LV and there have been a few major deportations recently that hit the news. Hispanics have been growing at a faster rate in the US for a long time. In all seriousness, the projections are that Hispanics will be the majority in the future within the United States.

I agree that the country is becoming dangerously close to grouping all Hispanics as illegal but on the flip side; all the outcries for illegal's rights just makes it worse as being an illegal alien, you don't actually have the same rights.

I have always believed that illegals should have no rights. If a person is here illegally they should have no rights. But, I think the current immigration policy needs to be changed. When Washington State changed its rules for the DMV, It angered a lot of people. but since then I have heard nothing. I was reading that Tacoma, WA has a increasing illegal population coming over from South Africa and getting in the country through Mexico and getting permission from WA State to stay.

The law in WA is presumed to have been to ensure a Democrat voting majority in WA state. We also have motor-voter registration here. So combine automatic voter registration with a drivers license that doesn't require proof of citizenship and you guarantee that we have non-citizens voting in our elections. It's a major insult to our democracy and constitutional laws, but no one talks about it because the (state run propaganda) media doesn't report it.

No doubt, misinformation brings the "best" in some people...

I live in WA (Interestingly enough I used to live in LV), I am "hispanic" (Since I was born in Mexico to German Parents), and once here, as soon as I went to the "DOT" to get my driver's license, not only I was required to provide what some here in the forum call "proof of citizenship" (I think "nationality" would be better described as), but also proof that I am in this country LEGALLY, so no, I can assure you that WA does not give drivers licences to illegals (which in fact I support), sheesh, seems like some people do this on purpose just to initiate a flame.. Just wanted to get the record straight, and apologies if it came out a bit harsh.

First, I believe all this demographic data is suspect. Think about it. How do they gather the data? I've been all over Las Vegas as well as several other cities and I see no evidence of any more Hispanics in Las Vegas as I do anywhere else. Last week I was in a section of Joliet, Illinois, near Harrah's casino that was so densely Hispanic, I could very well have been in Mexico and certainly would have guessed that I was if I were transported there blindfolded. Areas of LA are the same. With what's going on in Mexico today, you can't blame anyone for trying to escape. Their country is exploding and blood is literally running in the streets. I wouldn't go there for dental work anytime soon. That being said, I just found out today that my loan has been approved. I'll be coming out next week for the closing and when we eventually move into our new home AD1985 - there will be one more Hispanic in Las Vegas, my wife.

So in other words, it is not a "problem" anymore, well I am glad that is the case, unfortunately this hadn't been mentioned in any previous posts.

mod interpose: We have several issues here, the first being the title to the thread. Not only is it sensational but is problematic in its inference.

Second, any discussion on illegal immigration in general will not be tolerated in the local forums. We have a dedicated forum for those discussions.

Third, the thread at this point is off topic ...this should NOT be a discussion on discussing "illegals" (sic) in Washington state, or any other state for that matter.

Personally, I have a bit of a problem with the general inference pertaining to the premise of the opening post so at this time, this thread is closed.
