I would remove that double oven cabinet completely and put your fridge there so it's close to the sink. Then you would not have to worry as much about your new cabinets matching the island (or you could just replace the few doors on the island to match your new cabinets). It looks like there's a water line there for a second sink so it would be easy to hook up your ice maker.
Check out the discounted appliances at Lowes (returns, floor models). I just bought a $1000 fridge there for $720 (I talked them down).
Looks like a nice house, good luck!

Thanks, unfortunately that's just a gas line. It seems like I'm resigned to having the fridge where the footprint exists or moving it one spot to the right with a countertop style table to the left and either a piece of art above or more cabinets. Since the pantry wall is only 28 1/4 I am going to have a cabinet enclosure for the fridge so it doesn't stick out so noticeably.

I was just going to mention that. Definitely get the side panel and push the upper cabinet to counter depth. That and purchase a counter depth fridge so it has more of a finished, built-in look.

I also agree with the poster who said it might be a whole lot easier to scrap the existing cabinet that housed the double oven and go with a contrasting cabinet at a similar trim level.

Either that or persevere and find the cabinet manufacturer. I think you are asking for big issues (bucks and headaches) trying to relocate appliances and have the island re-stained or painted. To what benefit, really? Unless you are going to put in a sub zero or similar built in fridge, whats the net benefit?

Have you been able to identify the cabinet manufacturer? Look around for stickers inside the bathroom cabinets, call the builder or find out who the subcontractor was. I think you might be better off leaving the island as it is and going for contrasting stone and appliances where they were ripped out. Its a fairly popular trend to do that (along with those farmhouse style sinks).

Thats an enviable kitchen, btw.
