So I moved out here because I despise humidity and rain. It's been raining and humid every day.
I know it's monsoon season but this is ridiculous. Was it like this last year or is this a freak of nature?

It's not typical, but it's also not THAT unusual for tropical moisture to get this far inland and linger for a few days.

How long have you lived here? It hasn't been that humid for most of the summer. It's really only the last few weeks, that I've noticed, and once earlier, near the beginning of the summer.

If LV proves to be too humid for you, there's really only one place left to go. I understand that there's a desert in Chile that hasn't gotten any rain in a hundred years or so...

Been here a little over a month. I lived out here before, around this time of year, and it wasn't like this at all.

Humidity, lol, y'all crack me up! I was in Charleston, SC two weeks ago - now THAT's humidity. Las Vegas this week is what southerners call dry...

I came from North Carolina, a miserable, humid, rainy ****hole.
I moved here because the desert is supposed to be dry. Kind of pissed about that. Hoping it doesn't continue.

I'm in my 7th year here, and no two summers have been the same. You've been here a month - you're going to see some variation. The last few weeks have been more humid than usual, but really not that bad, unless you work outside.

Like I said, if LV turns out to be too wet for you, you have few options left. This summer's almost over, so wait and see what next summer brings before you pass judgement on how humid it is here. Check the historical data - LV is very dry.

This is a Phoenix level Monsoon. They do not get this far north normally. But actually I thought it was kind of nice.

Note this years rainfall is still only half of normal.

the rainfall for vegas is amazingly low, while pahrump's rainfall is double what it normally is (we have over 6 inches already!) ! i agree that the monsoon season feels like it's dragged on forever & ever & ever.....

this has not been a typical summer.

What is good about it is my A/C has not turned on for 3 days this week and I turned off my irrigation system. It will save me about $75 this month.

Gonna cost me more because I can't use my swap cooler in this humidity and have had to use the air conditioner.
