My wife just told me that ALBERTSONS at Cheyenne and Durango is roasting Hatch green chilis today. Even if you don't buy any, nothing says fall like that delicious smell. She said there was no line so it seems that either people in this neighborhood don't know what they are missing, or Albertsons didn't advertise it very well.

I also heard Sunflower market at both locations is roasting the green chilies too. They might be doing theirs on saturday. Check out their website at sfmarket.com for more info.

My wife just told me that they were doing it again tomorrow at Albertsons. She asked me if I wanted a tri tip sammy. They make a party out of the chilli roasts and BBQ tri tip steaks. Really good. I think you can buy the BBQ by the lb too.

I'm out of town right now, but I'd almost make a special trip to come get some. They are SOOOO delicious! Really good with eggs. I was raised in Albuquerque and these chilis represent some of my favorite childhood memories. That amazing smell of roasting green chili is unmistakable.

Until we get confirmation of their availability in Las Vegas, what are your favorite ways to serve them?

My wife and I tried your recipe for "Buzz's Chili Rellenos" the other day with some ribs I smoked and I must say, they were GREAT!! Really easy to make too. Going to have to head to Albertson's for some more chilis.

Just make sure it's the Albertson's on Rainbow -- that post you quoted is from last year.

I spent 22 years in Albuquerque too. Nothing says "fall" like the smell of Hatch chiles roasting over pinon fires.
