Actually you could pull it out and refill the hole and be just fine. I doubt anyone would say a word.

It actually would be a clear cut violation - a pool is really attached to the property...but I don't think anyone would particularly care.

Isn't it expensive to fill a pool in? Here in MI it costs over 10K! Years ago you could put whatever you wanted in the hole. Filter, chairs...whatever. Now, nothing, so you need more dirt!

Before any building took place they built up the lots on my street and filled it in with rocks the size of baseball and softballs. It's fun digging a hole to put a plant in! I actually have to use a chisel to go around rocks. So, if I really was serious about filling up a pool I would use lots of rocks.
