Can you get a filling meal with drink and dessert of the same quality as a Bellagio buffet for the same or less money at a local restaurant?

35 bux in a restaurant isn't all that much.
.....and they'll be no seconds or thirds.

But a 35 dollar buffet in Vegas and you'll be stuffed.
The buffet at Boulder Station is about 10$ less than Wynn and the food is reallllllly realllllllly good!

I didn't know the buffet had gone up to $35, but I'd say...depends. If you're a big eater the buffet is going to be a deal. The Bellagio was the best in town when I was doing buffets. They have everything you can imagine, and it is delicious food. Since I try to eat less now it's not a deal for me, and I hate the lines anyway. I haven't been to a buffet for a long time. But I thought you were looking to save money this trip??? I wouldn't spend $35 ordinarily on one meal unless it was a special occasion, and I've felt ripped off many times when the servings were so small there were only three or four bites. There are too many good restaurants in Las Vegas where you can eat very well for under $20, and plenty that are under $30. What kind of food are you looking for? Or are you like me? I decide where to eat after I put my seat belt on.

Skip the rest and go to the Rio World buffet. The best yet, food from all over, and fresh. Nothing can compare.

I haven't been to the buffet at Wynn, but I have been wondering if the quality is still the same at Bellagio. Steve Wynn started the gourmet buffet downtown at the Golden Nugget years ago. Then when he built the Bellagio he actually improved on it. But since MGM did their hostile take over of Wynn's properties, I've wondered if they haven't gone down hill. Whatever you think of Steve Wynn, he's got class and taste, and I don't think the MGM people have that the way he does.

I've been to plenty of restaurants where the servings are so big, there is no room for dessert, so I'm not concerned about having seconds and thirds.
I would like a really good first serving and great dessert.

I was just curious if the quality of the food at Bellagio and Wynn are so good that they would be better than a restaurant meal that cost the same with drink and dessert or if you only get your $35 worth if you gorge.

I would actually say, "yes", in the case of Bellagio and Wynn, but not other hotels. Also, it depends on what you're drinking. Iced tea ...or something exotic from the bar? Drinks can be more than the meal in a lot of places.

I meant the type of drinks included with the buffet like soda, juice, coffee, tea etc. so everything would be comparable.

Well, even if you don't gorge I'd guess you'll be quite happy. If memory serves, last time I went to the Bellagio buffet we started about 3:40 PM, which worked wonders since we paid lunch pricing ($20ish, I think) yet they started putting out dinner items just before 4 PM.

Now, I'm a guy who finds variety the spice of life. Over time, I've tried to focus on sampling a variety of things at a buffet rather than having a gorge-fest. At Bellagio, I was able to try a couple small pieces of (fresh) sushi, some Kobe beef, more seafood & a couple other items along with dessert. Everything was fantastic (or better), by practicing portion control I was able to try a lot of things without stuffing myself. All good stuff, unless something's changed recently you'll be very happy.

As for Wynn, I haven't (yet) been, but every person I've asked has raved & can't say enough good things. We're talking close to 100 people & you'd expect at least a couple differing views. So, either (a) they're all brainwashed or (b) it's really that good. I'll go sometime soon - from all I've heard, I won't be surprised if it leaves Bellagio in the dust.

You're kinda in a win-win situation, can't imagine there being a bad choice.
