The construction industry is one of the hardest hit right now. Ask your family. It's good that you have family here but you might want to think long and hard about moving here.

my family is not in the construction business and they do not know anything about construction. they are just telling me there are not a lot of jobs, thats why im asking here. when i look on cragslist i see a lot of jobs listed and some construction, so i was just looking for some feedback, maybe by some people in the construction industry

Let's see your own family tells you there isn't much opportunity but you don't believe them. I wouldn't recommend anybody moving here. Here's why even if you find a job it's only going to be part time, hence you need 2 part time jobs to make a decent living.

Of course, there are SOME jobs in Las Vegas, but there are so many people applying for each job you see on Craigslist that the chance of you being the one hired for any of the jobs is extremely low.
Construction is probably one of the worst fields to be looking for work in now.
Why not look for a job in a city with the lowest unemployment instead of one with the highest unemployment?
Wanting to move to Las Vegas to find a construction related job is like wanting to move to Detroit to get a job in an auto assembly plant right now.
