My friend has contacts with the organization and scored me a ticket to the auction about eight years ago.

I had an absolute blast walking through and looking at all of the cars. Also, watching people going crazy while the cars were on the block was pretty good.

It would be well worth the $20 same day admissions.

I did not know they have them in Vegas? Back in Phoenix, they were a yearly event. I never went, but my girlfriend did. She said it was fun.

I never had the opportunity to attend one, but would love to.

Many years ago I watched one of them on a cable channel. The one where Howard Hughes' 53 Buick Roadmaster went for a 1.5 million (if I remember correctly). Loved every moment of it.

If you get the chance to go in person, then I envy you. For a car person it should be a gas of an experience.

Sold for $770k, vs a new price in 2008 of $1.8 million. That's gotta be an unhappy seller...lol.

The auctions aren't nearly as exciting as they were back around 2005- the collector market peaked back then and has seen a huge drop in prices since. Cars that were selling for $300k in 2005 are rolling off the block for $50k this year.
