In Summerlin, $900 a month for a 1br is the norm. The others will be $700+. I do live in the ghetto so I can tell you would not want to live there unless you had to. 1 br are $425 where I live.

And a 2 bedroom is around $525 where LVD lives. And a good size too. I have friends that live in the building either next to or across from lvd and that's what they pay, all utilities paid.

Oh ok.. I must have been getting the wrong idea... From some of the posts i've seen on here and craigslist, I was thinking rent in a good/decent areas was like 400-600 a month. I didn't think that made sense for a place like vegas... So around 700/month for an average 1br apt huh?

Are there any 400-500 apartments in decent areas at all?? Not richy or high class..just a neighborhood thats not dangerous

You could get a decent 1br for $600 in an ok area. If would be better to read the reviews on any apartments you find to see if they are ok. My own apartment is ok for me, except for a roach problem that is getting worse and worse. Unfortunately, I am going to have to accept and live with them.

The difference between a good and bad area is really subjective. I live in what’s considered a relatively bad area but my home is in old money section of the neighborhood. With the exception of being panhandled. I never had any incidents in the area. I have had more run-ins with rift raft want to be gangsters hanging around the west end of town.

The problem with the roaches is the whole complex is infested. So while they set off a bug bomb or sprayed before you moved in, it was just a temporary measure before they would come back. It would be nice if everyone could band together and get the owners to spray once a month inside and out, but I am sure it would cost.
If you can locate the nest inside your apt, each one has one, you can saturate the hell out of it with some bug spray. I had to do that once in an old apt I lived in. I located it between the stove and the counter. I totally eradicated cockroaches from my apt while everyone else just lived with them. And ants too.

Another option is once you have all the bugs inside killed, seal off every crack and opening so there is no path for new bugs to come inside.
