Lightbulb Need a neurologist for daughter

My husband , daughter and myself just moved to Las Vegas at the beginning of this year. I am not sure where "lady luck" is shining, but it definitely hasn't been my direction.

My daughter who is seventeen went to visit her father for the summer, while there she passed out in a restaurant. She was taken to the Dr. and after several tests, they discovered a mass on the front of her brain.

She will be returning to Las Vegas next week and I need to get her to a neurologist ASAP.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:

Hi Terrydana!

Sorry to hear about your daughter. My suggestion would be to give Dr. Omar Cabahug a call, he's listed in the white pages, not the yellow pages. He comes highly recommended from another neurologist that I know.

Im sorry i missed the part of your post about the mass, Im sure you wont have to wait , I feel stupid, I guess I was just thinking about my daughter. I have found sunrise to be the best hospital in town , along with UMC . they have very great doctors , You might want to contact them. They really are good , dont listen to the other posters who say there is no good medical personel here! Im sure that between those 2 hospitals , they will know whats best for you to do. every thing will work out.

I am a Registered Nurse, and I know good - and bad - health care when I see it. While it is true that there are some good doctors and hospitals here, Las Vegas has a higher-than-average percentage of bad providers and you really have to do your homework to find good ones - moreso than anywhere else I have lived. It is very telling that when top political leaders have important surgeries or procedures done, they invariably go to hospitals in California.

I have worked in a couple of hospitals here, and I have collegues who have worked in most all of the others. There are maybe two or three good hospitals here, and that's it. Sunrise isn't one of them, despite their absurd advertising campaign comparing themselves to Loma Linda.

My wife sees Dr. Jesus Hernandez for neurology. He is one of the best locally. To follow up regarding my statement regarding bad providers, Dr. Hernandez is our fourth neurologist. One was just arrogant and condescending, and the other two were nothing short of incompetent.
