89123 is where I believe you're going to find the extended stay motel type places.
You have to understand that the short term nature of the living arrangement attracts a certain type of person, so you're not going to feel completely secure at any of these places, but you'll be better off here than at similar places on Rancho, Boulder Hwy, or W. Tropicana.

89123 is the safer area for the extended stay places, but that's not the only place, the zip code north of it, 89119 has some places that are also along Las Vegas Blvd between Sunset and Warm Springs, also the ones off of Las Vegas Boulevard also attract some tourists that prefer the apartment-style stay, so security may be better, even though I doubt that...

Short Term Rentals
Thanks , I 'll see what I can find in 89123 or 89119.
The problem is I need to be in LV , by the 2nd wk in Aug. , house just went on the market, so hubby staying behind for a month or so to finalize everything. So my thoughts were just have my car shipped out and personal items to get by for a month or so, movers will bring everything else.
Any other suggestions for a short term solution? Thanks

There are two budget suites you might consider...
4000 block Tropicana in 89103
and Rancho in 89129
They are both livable. Tend to have a construction kind of clientele and can be a little rough around the edges. I would avoid the one on Trop at 15 and the one on LV Blvd. They are a little too rough.
There is an Oakwood in Summerlin but that will start over $100 a night. Pretty well unconditional safe though.

EEEK!
Why not try to find a furnished condo that someone is renting out on the short term. There are a number at the Las Vegas Country Club for rent especially in the condo conversios (89109) and then there is South Strip, Manhattan & Park Avenue that offer furnished condos for the short term...often times more pricy than a short term budget suites, but peace of mind and comfort sometimes cannot have a price.
Check with some property management companies out here for shorter term rentals that are furnished.

That is a good suggestion. I don't find any to speak of along the strip until you get to 2300 or so. I think there are restriction in the LVCC conversion...or at least they are not in the MLS.
There are a number in the Sun Cities but you have to be 55.
There are a few in reasonable spots for 1500 to 2000 per month and you may have to commit to two months. The few below 1500 would not be better than the Budget Suites.
I have had clients use that Budget Suite on Trop a year or so ago. They found it acceptable.
