Ya know, I have read each and every post here and all I can say is "thanks for the memories". For you new comers, reading this thread, understand that to a few of us, Vegas is our home.....and no matter where the road might take me, Vegas will always be home.

There was a time in Vegas when it was much like a small town in Nebraska....your hand shake was your word. For God' sake, speaking of Fletcher Jones....I rolled down Alta one Friday afternoon in a old dodge truck and left that dealership about an hour later in a brand new Corvette....bought on a hand shake with "Ted"....Woke up the next morning, looked out the window and thought...."where in hell did that come from"..........

It's almost Christmas time....you ol timers gotta remember the shootout in the Chistmas tree lot...involving a certain law mans brother.....those were the days.....my friend

Vegas will never be what it was....I don't know if that is good or bad....Everyone was in a big race to nowhere...history was made and destroyed.....however the memories remain....I may at times be the first to slam the city of today....but never confuse my flustration with the fact that...Every one of us "ol timers" paid our dues at one time or other.....and we survived. !Vegas has been my home......for a long....long time....A fine lady she was !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent a lot of time in Vegas as a kid. We went to Wet n' Wild often and I remember larger areas of desert where we would ride 3/4 wheelers around without seeing anyone. I remember walking straight from my aunts house to Lone Mountain and it was all desert. Oh...and getting stuck halfway up Lone Mountain.

And before all the mega resorts I remember all the kids loading up in the back of my aunts Suburban, (back when seatbelts were optional), and driving down the Strip to see the lights. (We did this a couple times a year.)

Ahhhhhh! Wonder World. You must have been here a long time. If you couldn't buy it at Wonder World, you probably didn't really need it..........unless, of course, you wanted to go to Vegas Village.

I miss Showboat Lanes too, and the professional bowling shows they did on national TV. I'm not into bowling but it was good for Las Vegas.

I really miss the bowling at the Showboat. I bowled on a league there for years...........was back in the fun days of Vegas when Vegas was Vegas. It is nothing now.....kind of like living in a foreign country.......push 1 if you wish to continue in English.
